Zandra Stratford’s recent works signal her established forms derived from design disciplines and amplifies them in the vernacular of urban environments, resulting in paintings which are at once impacted and impactful.

Informed by the construction and gradual deconstruction of forgotten and interstitial city spaces, the stories which emerge from bold and innovative grid abstracts speak to fleeting and intimate moments of humanity with deliberate environments, aggregate and composite, revealed and layered in turn.

The result is a body of work which is soft, approachable, and playful, revelling in juxtaposition and the semiotic of the discarded.
